Configurable default alert for events (SB-855)
It is error-prone and time-consuming to define alerts for every single event: it would be useful if each user could set up his/her own default alert that would be set on every event. Alerts would still be configurable for each event if necessary. A different default could also be set for "all day" type events.

A lot of users expected to ba able to do that.

+1 for this feature. It is really annoying to configure a reminder for every event I create : I'm used to have a default reminder for every event set automatically in Thunderbird/Lightning and Google Calendar. Please add it soon !

Voted too: I receive alerts on sunday 9AM for events that occur all-day monday, kind of annoying. A minimum would be a global option for all-day events

We definitely need a way to set up a default alert/reminder for newly created events and events we accept. +1

Yes x1000 !! Lots of users are waiting that the calendar remind them automaticaly witout editing the advanced preferences of each event. This option is possible in Thunderbid / lightning ans this is very usefull.

My suggestion (SB-987) is a different than yours but I believe addresses the same issue. I think we should be able to setup an alert directly from the invitation e-mail so we would not have to remember the date and time and have to browse to the event afterwards to setup an alert.
